Dr. Voldman is a Board Certified comprehensive ophthalmologist with advanced training in cataract and corneal surgery, specializing in laser assisted (Femtosecond) cataract surgery and advanced technology intraocular lens implants (IOLs). He is skilled in the latest cataract surgical techniques, including astigmatism treatment and IOLs such as Toric, Multifocal, ReStor, and Symfony lenses. Dr. Voldman is dedicated to treating the full range of medical and surgical diseases of the eye. He has a particular interest in complicated cataract surgery and lens replacements including sutured IOLs. He also has experience with corneal surgical techniques such as corneal transplants (DMEK, DSAEK and PK) and laser vision correction (PRK / LASIK) for the treatment of nearsightedness and astigmatism.

Dr. Voldman completed a fellowship in cornea, cataract and refractive surgery at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary under the direction of Drs. John Seedor and David Ritterband. The infirmary is one of the country’s oldest and most renowned eye hospitals.

Dr. Voldman is active in clinical research, has written book chapters about advanced technology intraocular lenses, and continues to publish in, and edit peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Cornea Society.

After graduating magna cum laude from Baruch College, he attended medical school at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then completed his internship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai Queens Hospital and his ophthalmology residency at West Virginia University.

Dr. Voldman emigrated from Riga, Latvia as a child and grew up in New York. He speaks fluent Russian and Spanish. He now resides in Connecticut and enjoys the outdoors, playing sports, traveling, and cooking for his friends and family.
