Dr. Erol Eri Verter is a graduate of Brandeis University with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Molecular and Cellular Biology. After his graduate studies, Dr. Verter pursued and completed three years of ophthalmology research at Massachusetts General Hospital and subsequently earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Verter finished his medical internship at Mt. Auburn Hospital / Harvard Medical School, and his ophthalmology residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital / Yale School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology. Dr. Verter completed his Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellowship at New England Retina Associates. He is Board Certified in Ophthalmology.
Dr. Verter has been a practicing physician since 2016. He has co-written numerous publications in ophthalmology and received a grant from the Yale Diabetes Research Center for a study titled: “Contrast Sensitivity as an Early Detection for Diabetic Retinopathy,” which ran from 2018 – 2020.
Dr. Verter lives in Westport, Connecticut with his wife and son. He is an avid triathlete and has completed multiple triathlons and marathons.
